2025 International Darts Openの動画がアップされていました。今回ピックアップしたのはJosh Rock vs Nathan AspinallのQuarter-Finalsにおけるワンシーンです。
First to 6のフォーマットで行われているQFで、Aspinallは5-2とリードしており、かつ17と数字をかなり削っている状況から動画をスタートさせています。この直前、Aspinallはアレンジを若干失敗してしまいました。101を残した状況からS20→S19とダーツを入れていき、T10を狙った3投目が若干下に落ちてT15に入ってしまい17を残す結果となりました。
17を残しているためS1→D8と狙うのはダブルアウトではよくあることかと思います。ソフトダーツでも大体みんな同じことをしますよね。ただ1の両サイドは20と18であるため、横にずれるとバーストするリスクがあり、なんとなくみんな嫌なイメージを持っているかと思います（少なくても私はよくバーストします）。
そこで動画のこのシーンですが、なんとPDCのトッププレイヤーでもやってしまうんですねバーストを・・・。頭を掻くAspinallがお茶目だったので思わず取り上げてしまいました。
なお、次のラウンドではS1ではなくS9に狙いを変えて3投目でしっかりとD4を入れてこの試合を勝利しているのは流石だなと思いました。
【English】A new video from the 2025 International Darts Open has been uploaded! This time, I’m highlighting a moment from the Quarter Final between Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall.
It’s a First to 6 format, and at this point, Aspinall is leading 5-2, having already brought his score down to 17, which is where the video begins.
Just before this, Aspinall slightly misjudged his setup. With 101 remaining, he went S20 → S19, and then tried to hit T10 with his third dart. However, it dropped a bit low and landed in T15, leaving him with an awkward 17.
For 17, a common route is S1 → D8, which is familiar to anyone who plays double-out—same in soft-tip darts. But with 20 and 18 on either side of the 1, a slight miss sideways can lead to a burst, and I think many players have an uncomfortable memory of this (I know I burst there all the time!).
And sure enough, even a PDC top pro isn’t immune—in this scene, Aspinall ends up bursting, and the moment where he scratches his head in embarrassment was so endearing I just had to feature it.
That said, he smartly adjusted in the next visit, going for S9 instead of S1, and nailed D4 with his third dart, clinching the match—that’s true professionalism.
